Maroan enjoys the moment and warns that he has «many things to do here»
Maroan Sannadi, the offensive reinforcement of Athletic Club in the winter transfer market, has offered his first press conference in Lezama with a smile on his face that has not disappeared since his arrival. «Every day I am falling more in love with Athletic», admits without hesitation a child with a man’s body who dreamed of seeing himself playing in San Mamés one day and still can’t believe it until he sees himself in the video on Athletic Club’s social networks.
«I am very fortunate to be where I am, I feel very comfortable, enjoying the moment», has started the gasteiztarra, who remembers the day of his debut, against Girona. «I had been coming to San Mamés for many years. I had experienced it from the outside, when you enter the field it is an abysmal difference, something incredible, that I will not forget. I was eager to know this Club or live a night like the one against Roma… Not even in my best dreams, from admiration to Athletic».
As a newcomer, he is humble and does not set limits: «I have many things to do here, I need a period of adaptation, which experience provides». In that sense, he talks about his healthy competition with his rival for the position, Gorka Guruzeta. «It is a pleasure to have him, since I arrived I have him next to me in the locker room and he has helped me a lot. He has more than 100 games, 30 goals, I have a lot to enjoy with him».
After assessing that Ramadan does not affect his performance because «it is something I have been doing all my life and I follow the Club’s guidelines for food and hydration», he has warned of the difficulty of the match against CA Osasuna: «We already know they are a great team and they make things difficult at San Mamés».
He reflects on his experience at Athletic with the atmosphere he experienced against AS Roma: «When I entered and saw everything, I couldn’t believe it, I wasn’t so aware. Until I saw the Club’s video, I didn’t know who I was. I have been there. I want to experience many nights like that».
