Everything is ready in Bilbao for the Eusko Label Liga and Euskotren Liga 2025 to begin. The rowing season will kick off on July 5th with the XVI and VII Bandera de Bilbao, the time trial race that goes through the heart of the city.
The Councilor for Youth and Sports of the Bilbao City Council, Itxaso Erroteta, and the President of the ACT, Borja Rodrigo, have presented all the details of the competition, in which the female crews of the Euskotren Liga and the male crews of the Eusko Label Liga will compete in the time trial race.
The President of the ACT, Borja Rodrigo, highlighted the importance of starting the season in Bilbao, “a city closely linked to the development of the league”. On the other hand, the Councilor for Youth and Sports of the Bilbao City Council, Itxaso Erroteta, emphasized “the city’s connection to this sport and the positive impact of the event”. Both encouraged the public to engage and participate in the grand celebration that the Bandera de Bilbao has become.
The urban circuit and time trial format will provide a unique spectacle along the Ría, allowing fans to enjoy the passing of the boats in a urban setting. Additionally, the times of this race will determine the starting order and composition of the heats on the following day, increasing its significance in the sporting aspect.
The 2025 season starts strong with Bilbao once again as the main stage for a regatta that combines tradition, spectacle, and high-level competitiveness.
