FROM AUGUST 8 TO 31, THE FAIRGROUND AND CIRCUS RETURN TO PARQUE ETXEBARRIA FOR EVERYONE’S ENJOYMENT
- The fairground will open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8; although the official inauguration by Mayor Juan Mari Aburto will take place a week later, on Thursday, August 14.
- A total of 72 attractions have been authorized, in addition to the circus.
- As has been customary in recent editions, for three days during Aste Nagusia, there will be time slots without sound disturbances, so that autistic individuals can enjoy the fairground without any inconvenience.
The Bilbao City Council continues immersed in the preparations for a new edition of Aste Nagusia, which is just a month away. Even before the txupin launch, the public will be able to enjoy some of the traditions associated with the festivities, such as the fairground rides. The attractions return to Parque Etxebarria for the enjoyment of all citizens, with a special focus on families and children, on August 8.
Specifically, the fairground will open at 5:00 p.m. on that Friday; and will close on August 31. Although the official opening will take place just 48 hours before the start of Aste Nagusia, and will be conducted, as usual, by Mayor Juan Mari Aburto, on August 14.
In total, the Bilbao City Council has authorized the installation of 72 attractions this year, in addition to the circus. Among them, there will be twelve rides for adults, thirteen for children, six churro stands, seventeen various stalls, four bars with terraces, as well as shows, skill machines, and games of chance…
The fairground rides will open every day at 5:00 p.m., although the closing time will vary depending on the date:
- Aste Nagusia days, from August 16 to 23, will close at 4:00 a.m. (from 3:00 to 4:00 without sound).
- Rest of the fair days:
From Monday to Thursday, the fairground will close at 1:00 a.m. (from 12:00 a.m. without sound).
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, closing time is scheduled for 2:00 a.m. (from 1:00 a.m. without sound).
In addition, to make the Parque Etxebarria fairground as inclusive as possible, this year, time slots without sound disturbances have also been established so that autistic individuals can enjoy the fairground without any inconvenience. Thus, on the days 17, 20, and 22 (from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.), the fairground rides will operate without music or other loud noises.
CIRCUS
Like the rest of the attractions in the fairground, the Circus will remain open from August 8 to August 31; and will be located – as in recent years – in the area closest to the elevator that connects the park with Avenida Zumalacárregui.
Also, the setup period is the same for all -except for spatially complex devices, which may take slightly longer-. Specifically, from 9:00 a.m. on August 4 to 10:00 p.m. on September 1.
