Quinto balance de AC Aurrera: orgullo, humildad y autoexigencia

The balance corresponding to the period between January and June 2025 highlights 13 points from the Athletic Club’s Action Plan and incorporates new information related to the results not achieved and the strategic indicators.

The Athletic Club, in compliance with the commitment made to its social mass, once again informs its members through the Txoko on the website about everything related to the progress of the 2023/26 AC Aurrera Action Plan. This transparency exercise allows the Club to be accountable to its members so they can see, understand, and verify firsthand the progress made in the roadmap set for Athletic until 2026.

Communication of results:

The following document shows the degree of compliance with each of the 17 strategic pillars of AC Aurrera once its fifth semester has been completed (January 1, 2025 – June 30, 2025) and the main results obtained in the four lines of action. Additionally, the balance includes two new sections with relevant information:

  • The independent formulation of the results NOT achieved reflects the humility and self-demand inherent in the plan.
  • The strategic indicators show the impact of the action plan on the long-term evolution of the Club.

    These are the 13 results of the Action Plan that the Club highlights in its fifth biannual balance.

    AXIS 1: DEMAND, LEADERSHIP, AND SPORTING SUCCESS

    1. MEN’S FIRST TEAM RESULTS:
  • Qualification for the Champions League as 4th with 70 points.
  • Best score in the 21st century and an increase of two points compared to 23/24, playing in the Europa League.
  • Europa League semi-finals.
  • Fewest goals conceded in LaLiga and 2nd in the top five leagues.
  • Eliminated in the Round of 16 of the Cup by a non-Top 5 team.
    1. 27% INCREASE IN MARKET VALUE (TRANSFERMARKT), FROM €295M IN 23/24 TO €375M IN 24/25 (ACCUMULATED +€153M SINCE 22/23, +69%).
  • Five renewals: Ernesto Valverde, Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta, Iñigo Lekue, Mikel Jauregizar, and Nico Williams.
  • Debut from Bilbao Athletic: Endika Buján.
  • Two signings: Maroan Sannadi and Robert Navarro.
    1. WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM RESULTS:
  • Ranked 4th with 51 points (best ranking since 17/18 and 2 points less than 23/24).
  • Eliminated from the Cup by a lower category team.
    1. RENEWAL OF THE WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM GENERATION (59% MIN. OF LEAGUE FOR PLAYERS UNDER 24 YEARS OLD).
  • Three renewals: Bibiane Schulze, Maite Zubieta, and Eider Arana.
  • Two debuts: Laida Balerdi and Itsaso Miranda.
    1. 93% ACHIEVEMENT OF INDIVIDUAL 360º IMPROVEMENT OBJECTIVES IN BILBAO ATHLETIC (TECHNICAL/TACTICAL/PERFORMANCE).
    2. ENSURING SUCCESSION LINES TO THE FIRST TEAM IN THE LONG TERM – 64% ACHIEVEMENT.
  • 11 affiliated clubs in Iparralde (from 1,500 to 4,000 cards under agreement).

    AXIS 2: SOCIAL IMPACT AND RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE

    1. AVERAGE ATTENDANCE OF 48,459 AT SAN MAMÉS (+4% VS 23/24, 1,900 MORE SPECTATORS).
  • Best attendance in the history of a football match at San Mamés with 52,114 spectators (Europa League quarter-finals against Rangers FC).
  • Over 6,000 members on the waiting list.
  • Record of 6,112 registered for Gazte Abono (+8% compared to 5,673 in 23/24).
    1. SOCIAL IMPACT:
  • Over 90 clubs in the III edition of Euskal Non-League Day, over 45 teams in the LaLiga Genuine Final Phase in Lezama, Athletic Martxa with over +1,500 participants.
  • Impact of the Euskal Non-League Day in the UK with the collaboration of 6 English teams and mentions in BBC News and DAZN.
  • Farewell of Oscar de Marcos with athleticzales at San Mamés and with the entire structure at Lezama, strengthening the sense of belonging.
    1. 93.4 NPS EXPERIENCE AT SAN MAMÉS (STANDARD RECOMMENDATION INDEX BETWEEN -100 AND +100).

      AXIS 3: ECONOMIC LEAP AND SUSTAINABILITY FOCUSING ON INCOME

    2. €13 MILLION INCREASE IN COMMERCIAL REVENUES AT THE END OF THE 24/25 SEASON COMPARED TO THE END OF 23/24 (ACCUMULATED INCREASE OF +€33.2M IN 3 SEASONS, FROM €17.8M IN THE 21/22 SEASON TO +€51M IN 24/25).
  • San Mames VIP Area, events, and Museum: +€3.4M.
  • Ticketing: +€8.9M (+€0.8M in Liga, -€0.7M in Copa, and +€8.8M in UEL).
  • Sponsorships: +€1.3M.

    AXIS 4: ORGANIZATION, CULTURE, AND MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

    1. DIGITALIZATION OF THE PROCESS OF MANAGING SUPPLIER INVOICES AND EXPENSES.
    2. RESTRUCTURING OF THE BUDGET FOR ANALYTICAL ACCOUNTING.
    3. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DATA PLATFORM IN NON-SPORTS CORPORATE AREAS.
