BILBAO WILL BE FILLED WITH MUSIC, COLOR, PRIDE, AND FLOATS FROM JUNE 18 TO 22 IN SUPPORT OF LGBTI+ RIGHTS
- Among the novelties that will be featured at Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO 2025, there will be a protest march that will dress up the Gran Vía de Bilbao with color, music, floats, and pride on June 21. It will start from the Sagrado Corazón at 6:00 p.m. and will end at El Arenal, one of the focal points that will host the festival’s program.
Bilbao will be filled with music, color, pride, and floats from June 19 to 22, with a complete program organized by the platform Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO. On June 21, a protest march will embody the essence of Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO, with diversity, respect for plurality, teamwork, and joy as tools for visibility and advocacy.
As a novelty, after ten years parading along the river, this year the march will traverse the Gran Vía, taking to the streets of the city to reinforce society’s presence in the defense of LGBTI+ rights. It will start from the Sagrado Corazón at 6:00 p.m. and will end at El Arenal, one of the city’s focal points, which will host the program of Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO 2025.
Another novelty this year has been the poster contest by BBHARRO, in which the proposal submitted by the Bilbao artist Cachorro Lozano has emerged as the winner with unanimous votes from the jury. Titled All Colors, for All, the artwork is a celebration of diversity and features the naive, rebellious, and advocacy-driven aesthetics that characterize the author’s creations. This image thus becomes the introduction to Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO 2025 and will be present in various promotional materials, including the Abando station of Metro Bilbao, Plaza Circular, El Arenal, and the program brochure.
Additionally, new proposals have been added to the program, such as a summer cinema event to be held at Plaza de las Mujeres on June 15; a special day dedicated to Basque language and culture on June 19 featuring performances by Lova Lois, Beñat, and Asier Bilbao; a potato omelet gastronomic competition at El Arenal on June 21; and a surprise performance on Sunday, June 22, in collaboration with LGBTI+ bars.
