
THE BILBAO MUNICIPAL POLICE LAUNCHES A CAMPAIGN TO CONTROL AND MONITOR THE TECHNICAL CONDITIONS OF VEHICLES NEXT WEEK

Checks will start tomorrow, Monday, June 2, and will continue until Sunday, the 8th. - The initiative is part of the Strategic Plan for Road Safety and Safe Mobility in the Basque Country and aims to raise awareness among drivers of their responsibility behind the wheel, with the ultimate goal of ensuring road safety on our roads.
- In campaigns of this nature carried out in 2024, a total of 227 vehicles were inspected, and 76 fines were issued for driving with an expired ITV certificate.
Starting TOMORROW, Monday, June 2, and until Sunday, the 8th, the Bilbao Municipal Police will carry out a specific campaign to monitor and control the technical conditions of vehicles, which is part of the Strategic Plan for Road Safety and Safe Mobility in the Basque Country.
This campaign will pay special attention to driving with a valid ITV certificate, as well as to the condition and wear of tires – especially in terms of grip, which can be crucial in preventing accidents on wet surfaces – and lighting devices.
This initiative aims to raise awareness among drivers of their responsibility behind the wheel, with the intention of preventing accidents and ensuring road safety on our roads.
All data collected by the Security Division of the Bilbao Municipal Police will be included in tables for statistical management, following a set of predefined indicators for this purpose.
DATA FROM CAMPAIGNS CARRIED OUT IN 2024
In campaigns of this nature carried out in 2024, the Bilbao Municipal Police inspected a total of 227 vehicles, fined 76 for not having a valid ITV certificate, two for lack of valid insurance, two for tires in poor condition, one for lighting deficiencies, as well as thirteen others for various infractions.
