The Txikigune of Aste Nagusia 2025 invites families to embark on the path to equality with the new experience "Berdintasunaren Biderantz".
From Sunday, August 17 to Sunday, August 24, the Doña Casilda Park will host various activities that will educate girls and boys aged 0 to 12 about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and values.
This edition introduces the new game "Berdintasunaren Biderantz", a participatory and educational treasure hunt that promotes the construction of an egalitarian society among all individuals.
Accessibility and inclusion will also be prioritized with time slots that are free from sound alterations for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), sign language interpreters, and ramps for children with reduced mobility, among other accommodations.
The Txikigune of Aste Nagusia will once again become a fun and educational space for families, offering an immersive experience to promote the SDGs and values of the UN’s 2030 Agenda. With over 30 activities tailored for children aged 0 to 12, this space located in the Doña Casilda Park will be open from Sunday, August 17 to Sunday, August 24.
In 2025, as a novelty, the Txikigune will invite families to journey towards equality for all individuals through a grand participatory treasure hunt that addresses topics such as responsibility, diversity, multiculturalism, sustainability, and human rights, among others.
The "Berdintasunaren Biderantz" proposal aims to raise awareness among participants about how much they can contribute to breaking down prejudices and barriers that limit many people. It emphasizes that through empathy, collaboration, and respect, a society of equality can be built.
Through a team-based and participatory dynamic, a maximum of 40 individuals divided into pairs will have to overcome challenges in a journey that ends with a group final test. The experience is led by the characters Ur and Ekhi, guiding participants through the course, which can be completed in 8 daily sessions: four in the morning and four in the afternoon.
A Children’s Park to Create "Planet Agents"
The Txikigune will be open from Sunday, August 17 to Sunday, August 24 in the areas of the Doña Casilda Park, the Pergola, and the Duck Pond, from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 16:30 to 20:00. More than 30 activities tailored for ages 0 to 12 will transform the Children’s Park of Aste Nagusia into a hub for play, coexistence, values education, and sustainability.
For children aged 0 to 3, there will be various spaces designed to stimulate senses and promote values such as coexistence, equality, and environmental protection. These include the Txiki Laboratory, the Oxizeanoa where they can "fish" trash to clean seas, rivers, and oceans, and the Botxo-Mari inspired by the Aita Mari boat. Other areas include the Experiteka, a giant psychomotor circuit, and the ball pit Plankt-On.
The importance of the SDGs will also be highlighted in activities for children aged 3 to 12. Through inflatable structures, water ramps, collaborative wooden games, trampolines, and various construction games, children will learn about protecting marine life, terrestrial ecosystems, health, well-being, and values like equality.
Activities for all ages will include makeup workshops, radio activities, storytelling, magnetic construction, a photo booth, and food trucks.
With these offerings, the Txikigune will once again become the "Universal Center for Planet Rescue", providing the opportunity to participate in the B-Agentzia School and receive accreditation as "Botxotarrak" and "B-Agenteak" to become advocates for the planet and interculturalism. Five instructors will train all participants in the five core areas of the 2030 Agenda: People, Planet, Peace, Prosperity, and Partnerships.
Both Gargantua and Marijaia will be present at the Txikigune, with Marijaia also available in a special small-scale version designed for visually impaired individuals.
Afternoon Street Theater for Children
Additionally, the Pergola of the Doña Casilda Park will transform into the best street theater stage for children every evening starting at 19:30. From Sunday, August 17 to Sunday, August 24, children will enjoy theatrical performances from top companies, with "Micro" and "Fono" as hosts to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Throughout the week, companies like Chien Hung-Kuo with “Moving Zen”, Zirikia Zirkus with “Marietak Zirkus”, Mano a Mano with “Kinematos”, Markeliñe with “Artilusioa”, Civi Civiac with “Don Bártulos”, Agro The Clown with “ImproLocura”, and Eleder Magoa with “Magia Mundiala” will take the stage. The performances on Monday, August 18, and Sunday, August 24, will have a sign language interpreter, while the rest will have minimal text.
TREN TXU TXU
The Tren Txu Txu, a free shuttle service, will once again operate to transport individuals from the side of the main City Hall building to the stop at Plaza Euskadi. The train will run from 11:00 to 14:30 in the morning and from 16:30 to 20:00 in the afternoon. These vehicles will be equipped to carry baby strollers and will have a ramp for direct access by individuals with reduced mobility.
MAKUSI GUNEA
Throughout Aste Nagusia, the Txikigune will feature the first digital ecosystem in Basque created by EiTB for children and youth, called MAKUSI. This free entertainment universe in Basque will offer various activities, including an inflatable goal for fans of Irabazi Arte to practice their soccer skills and a family area for fun and experimentation with Makusi wooden games.
Accessibility Measures
The Txikigune will implement several actions to facilitate accessibility for all individuals, including sign language interpreters (available upon request at the Information booth), storytelling with sign language interpreters, Gargantua with a ramp for children with reduced mobility, a special small-scale version of Marijaia for visually impaired individuals, information in easy-to-read format, access to information via QR codes, special flooring in areas with water or uneven terrain, and the Tren Txu-Txu with a ramp for access and space for baby strollers.
In addition to accessible measures, the Txikigune will offer time slots with no sound alterations for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These special hours will be on Tuesday, August 19 from 16:30 to 20:00 and Wednesday, August 20 from 11:00 to 14:30.
Sustainable Children’s Park
The Txikigune has always prioritized environmental care and sustainability in its activities. In its efforts to progress in this area, the Children’s Park of Semana Grande has, for the third consecutive year, received the Sello Erronka Garbia, a certification for sustainable events from IHOBE (Basque Government).
Information Point
Like in previous editions, the Txikigune will have an information point where 8,000 identification bracelets will be distributed, each with a space to indicate a contact phone number.
