THE CARAVAN AND MOTORHOME AREA OF KOBETAMENDI RESUMES ITS ACTIVITY AFTER THE BILBAO BBK LIVE
- Tomorrow, Sunday, it reopens its doors, after serving the needs of the Bilbao BBK Live Festival. The area has just renovated and modernized its facilities and now has a new name Bilbao Caravan Park.
The caravan and motorhome area of Kobetamendi resumes its activity tomorrow Sunday, July 20, after being closed for a few days to attend to the needs of the Bilbao BBK Live Festival. It is a highly established and valued reference space for those who visit the city and its surroundings using this accommodation resource.
It is worth noting that the Bilbao City Council has just renovated the facilities in response to the significant increase in users recorded in recent years.
Among the improvements made in the area, which is now called Bilbao Caravan Park, a new main infrastructure has been created that provides access to all the area’s services, and the old installation has been transformed into a leisure and meeting space for users.
With this intervention, the city council of Bilbao strengthens its commitment to sustainable and quality tourism, offering a comfortable, accessible environment adapted to the current needs and numbers of those traveling in a caravan or motorhome. This initiative also includes a protected employment project through the management of the service by a socio-labor insertion company, Suspertu SL promoted by EDE Fundazioa, generating 5 jobs for people with employability difficulties.
THE DATA
During the year 2024, a total of 19,848 vehicles with 44,977 occupants enjoyed the area, with the months of May (4,805 users) and August (6,365 occupants) being the busiest. Between January and May of this year 2025, 6,525 vehicles totaling 14,194 people have passed through the area.
Bilbao Caravan Park is located on Mount Kobeta (Kobeta 31), with unbeatable views of the city and well connected by public transport. It has 72 plots, all with electrical and drinking water connections.
