
- From April 29 to June 30, 10 sessions will be held at the Municipal Center of Basurto, in Zankoeta, aimed at providing effective tools to manage anxiety.
- In addition, during the months of May and June, 6 sessions on basic mindfulness techniques to manage stress and anxiety will also be held at the Municipal Centers of Otxarkoaga, Santutxu, Ibaiondo, and Deusto.
The Health and Consumer Area of the City Council of Bilbao will offer a total of 16 theoretical-practical sessions on emotional well-being between April 29 and June 30 at district municipal centers in Basurto, Otxarkoaga, Santutxu, Ibaiondo, and Deusto.
According to the Health and Consumer Councilor, Álvaro Pérez, «with these activities, we want to highlight the enormous importance of mental health in today’s society, committing to providing the population with tools and skills for better care of this aspect of health.
The first workshop will consist of 10 sessions to provide participants with effective tools to understand, manage, and reduce anxiety in their daily lives. All sessions will last two hours and will be held at the Municipal Center of Basurto, in Zankoeta, on April 28, May 5, 12, 19, and 26, and June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.
Additionally, a second workshop will be conducted, with 6 sessions of an hour and a half each, aimed at empowering individuals with emotional distress to handle basic mindfulness techniques to manage stress and anxiety, thereby improving their quality of life. In this case, the workshops will be held at the municipal centers of Otxarkoaga and Santutxu on June 12 and 16, Ibaiondo (Casco Viejo) on May 13 and June 17, and in Deusto on May 22 and June 26.
The 16 sessions will accommodate groups of 25 people. The workshops will be led by specialized staff from the Health and Consumer Area using theoretical-practical techniques such as psychodrama, Gestalt therapy, or therapeutic theater, with a focus on emphasizing the importance of daily practice of these techniques as a key to emotional development.
